David Grey
New MexicoDavid Grey is an artist, designer, and university professor. He holds an MFA in graphic design from CalArts, was the Founding Chair of the Graphic Design Department at Santa Fe University of Art and Design, and has lead contemplative design workshops at universities and cultural centers in Berlin, Milan, Madrid, Mexico City, Kuwait City, Sao Paolo, and New Delhi. He is the founder of Sun Mountain School of Contemplative Art and the publisher of Cottage Scholar. Teaching a practice called ‘Artful Awareness’, David Grey’s art explores graphic design as a distinct form of contemplation; a daily mindfulness practice inspired by the subtle esoteric energy of design elements and principles.
Through his distinct approach, David bridges the gap between creativity and mindfulness by emphasizing the profound connection between inner awareness and visual design. The well-crafted and intricate pieces of David Grey inspire global audiences to see design as a dynamic dialogue with the self and the environment.
