Katie Mulder is a wife and mother to two young kids who began her creative journey as a calligrapher, but through exploration found her artistic voice in painting. Much of what she paints is inspired by the expansive landscape of the midwest: wide open skies and rolling hills. She uses a slightly moody color palette and soft textural elements to create work that is subtle and approachable, translating well to a variety of interior styles. She often works with raw canvas and writes poetry to accompany her works as a way to draw inspiration from memory, aiming to capture the heart of the viewer and allow them to see a part of themselves in her work.
