Paul Meyer is an Austin, Texas based painter and sculptor whose process involves intentional physicality as well as dependency on the chemical activity of the inanimate materials at his disposal: in the studio, paintings are taking form all around him, with canvases spread out to receive drippage or catch spills from other works in progress; layers of medium form, and he wets them only to shave them down again, creating topographies and materials on the canvas. Paul’s art works have been featured in The New York Times, Architectural Digest, Elle Decor, and many more.
