Wonderwall Studio is proud to offer a wide selection of Slim Aarons prints and share with the world the talent of this incredible artist.

Slim Aarons (American, October 29, 1916–May 29, 2006) was a photographer well-known for his portraits of the rich and famous. Born George Allen Aarons, he spent his youth in New Hampshire and New York before joining the army during World War II, where his photography career began.

Throughout the 1950’s, 1960’s, and 1970’s, Slim Aarons photographed beautiful people in an atmosphere of luxury and decadence and is regarded as one of the most influential photographers of his generation. He brought a photojournalist's eye to the art of formal society portraiture, often posing his subjects as still lifes in their own magnificent surroundings.

Aarons had a remarkable ability to capture not just the glamor, sophistication, and ease of his subjects but also the stories and essence of the era. His images evoke both nostalgia and admiration for a strikingly curated lifestyle that seems both effortless and aspirational.

He has a genuine eye and talent for capturing glamorous people in high society living it up and enjoying life, and those feelings and aspirations come through so eloquently in his work.

As an affable and stylish young man, Aarons found magazine work with Town and Country, Holiday, LIFE, and Travel and Leisure, which gained him access to some of the world's most elite and exclusive playgrounds. His approach to photography was simple; using no make-up artists or artificial lights, he let the natural opulence of his subjects, and their surroundings illuminate his lens. You can fill your space with Slim Aarons prints and truly share his vision and desire to showcase “attractive people who were doing attractive things in attractive places."
